FAQs

What type of program is Wise Early Learning Center?
Wise Early Learning Center is a high quality, very affordable programWhat we are not is a day care center. What sets us apart from day care:
1. Our qualified staff.
2. We offer a classroom setting, rather than cubbies as room separators. This eliminates the noise level between classrooms, thus, eliminating distractions.

3. Your child remains with his classmates the entire school year and moves forward to the next grade level with his class.
4. We follow the BCPS calendar. We begin school in September and end in June.

What are the qualifications of the teaching staff?

While the state of Maryland does not require staff to have full degrees in order to teach in an early learning center,  Wise Early Learning Center does
require that teachers have a degree in education, especially in Early Childhood Education.  The teachers at Wise ELC currently hold Associates Degrees and BA Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  The staff continually attends classes and workshops in order to maintain their certification.

How much does it cost to enroll at Wise Early Learning Center?
When you consider what Wise Early Learning has to offer versus what a day care center has to offer, you will find Wise Early Learning’s tuition costs are very reasonable. Please call our school at 443-503-8748 for tuition cost.

What ways can tuition be paid?
You may choose to pay your tuition on a monthly basis or bi-monthly.

You can pay via our website using the PayPal options available in the drop down menu.  We also accept cash, check and money orders.

What is before care and how much does before care cost?
Before care is a free service we offer to our parents who need to drop off their child before our school day begins at 8:00am. Before care starts at 7:00am and ends at 8:00am when the school day begins. Parents who need before care must sign a contract even though the cost is free.

If your child does not attend before care, then the latest time to drop off your child is no later than 8:20am.

Do you offer Breakfast?
Starting in the new school year, 2018/2019, we will offer breakfast to our students who arrive before 7:45am.

Do you offer lunch?
You will need to pack a lunch for your child.  We do supply milk, juice and water for your child.
Friday is pizza lunch day and we order out for pizza.  The cost is $3.00 per child and includes pizza, fruit or yogurt and a dessert.

Do you serve snack and how often is snack served?
Snack will be provided by the parent, however, we will provide the milk, juice and water for snack. When providing snack, you will need to put each snack in a separate baggie, but in the lunch box.
Snack is served once a day for students who are enrolled in the school day and twice a day for children who are enrolled in both the school day and the extended day program.

Is parking provided?
Yes! There is plenty of parking for drop off and pick up.  Parent parking is located on the side of the building.

How do I contact the school should I need to talk to a teacher?
You may call the school at any point in the day to inquire about your child’s day, however, we do ask that you not call a teacher from the classroom to talk on the phone while she is teaching.  The best time to call to talk to a teacher is between the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pm.  Our day is jammed packed with activities with children and it is always in the best interest of the children that teachers remain with their students at all times. If you need to conference with a teacher, please set up an appointment to at lease 24 hours before meeting with the teacher.

Do you honor court ordered documents?

Yes, we MUST  honor court ordered documents regarding an enrolled student.
